Daily Real Estate Briefing: Ho Chi Minh City Expands Supply as Commercial Premises Remain Vacant

Today’s real estate news focuses on notable developments in Ho Chi Minh City. Nearly 43,000 apartments are expected to be added to the market by the end of 2027, with most concentrated in suburban areas, while the average primary asking price has already exceeded 100 million VND per square meter. The city has also added 147 land plots to a pilot list for housing projects, raising expectations for increased supply, although the process from vacant land to completed homes still faces significant legal obstacles. In Thu Thiem, the total value of five land lots has been determined at more than 18.253 trillion VND, providing a basis for setting starting prices at auction. Meanwhile, many premises on busy commercial streets remain vacant ahead of the peak shopping season because of high rents and changes in business models.
